Royal Oaks Senior Living Announces Formation of Aventur as a Growth focused Parent Company
Sun City, Ariz.— In the pursuit of growth, Royal Oaks has formed a new parent company, Aventur, to expand opportunities in the retirement living space. This strategic restructuring positions the organization to diversify revenue streams and explore new ventures while maintaining the excellence that Royal Oaks is known for as Arizona’s premier life plan community. Gretchen Cobb, formerly the Chief Operating Officer for Royal Oaks and the new CEO for Aventur, shared her vision: “I am deeply honored to support the remarkable residents and dedicated staff who make our affiliated communities — like Royal Oaks — so extraordinary. Our team will go beyond the ordinary to create vibrant, thriving environments where people feel empowered and connected. By accelerating the possibilities within each community, we are building a stronger, more resilient future.” Continuing the legacy of Royal Oaks, Aventur is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which will allow the organization to remain laser-focused and invested in its communities. With this new parent-company operating structure, Aventur’s leadership is committed to driving sustainable growth and operational excellence, while staying true to the values that have made Royal Oaks so successful for more than 40 years.

A. Carter Smitherman will serve as Chief Financial Officer for Aventur. He said, “Being the CFO is both a privilege and a responsibility I take very seriously. I look forward to leveraging my experience to ensure we have a strong financial foundation, helping Aventur navigate the future with clarity and confidence as we continue to grow and innovate.” He continued, “This is an incredibly exciting time for us as we lay the groundwork for a successful future.
