About Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest | Phoenix

Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest stabilizes lives in times of crisis and transition, builds a foundation where people can thrive, and preserves dignity and respect for the most vulnerable in Arizona. With a heritage of care for over 50 years, LSS-SW serves people in all walks of life: children, people with disabilities, older adults, refugees, immigrants, and those experiencing food and housing insecurity. Our vision is a future where all people thrive, and you are invited to join us.

In Maricopa County, LSS-SW Emergency Services partners with faith communities and hardworking volunteers to relieve hunger and homelessness through food pantries, senior food boxes, rent & utility assistance, and emergency shelter. LSS-SW Family Resource Centers provide resources and support to families with children age birth to five, ensuring child safety, health and well-being. Any one in need can call our Family Resource Centers for referral to community resources. In addition, LSS-SW licenses foster homes for children and adults with developmental disabilities and our Refugee & Immigration Services support legal refugees and asylum seekers to adjust to life in a new country after vetting by the federal government.
