About Hospice of the Valley | Tucson
Hospice of the Valley is Arizona’s original hospice, founded by a small group of volunteers in 1977, as a not-for-profit organization with this mission: Bringing comfort, dignity and compassionate care to our community. As part of our mission, we care for all who come to us in need, turning no one away regardless of insurance or financial resources.
We are the leading provider of hospice care in Maricopa and northern Pinal counties and Tucson, and also provide unique in-home supportive care programs that focus on earlier stages of serious illness, before people need hospice care. These services bridge gaps in the healthcare system– enhancing patient care and reducing avoidable emergency room visits and hospital stays. Our Arizona Supportive Care program helps those with advanced, chronic illness; our Supportive Care for Dementia program improves quality of life for people living with all types and stages of dementia and their family caregivers.
Long recognized for expertise in dementia care, Hospice of the Valley built an innovative Dementia Care and Education Campus in central Phoenix—providing support and resources and teaching professionals, students, caregivers and our community best practices in dementia care.
Hospice of the Valley also offers a myriad of free community programs for all, including recognition for veterans and first responders, pet and music therapy, grief support and mindfulness meditation, no-cost healthcare decision planning and senior placement service.
1600 community volunteers visit patients to provide companionship and caregiver respite — reading, bringing pets to brighten their day or calming with music therapy to ease stress.
After hours clinical support is available 24/7/365, there is never an answering machine.
