About Good Samaritan Society – Willow Wind
Willow Wind Assisted Living can offer a little extra help with things like medication, transportation, personal care or other needs—all in a safe, friendly environment. Caregivers provide support when you need it, but still give you flexibility to make your own choices. Our building is all on one level and we offer several different sizes of apartments, including studio, 1-bedroom and 2-bedrooms.
Is assisted living right for me?
You want to live life your way, but you’ve noticed certain activities aren’t as easy as they used to be. Loved ones have mentioned assisted living, but if you’re still not sure it’s right for you, consider these questions:
• Am I eating as healthy or as well as I should be?
• Can I still do everyday tasks easily, without assistance?
• Do I always feel safe in my own home? When I travel?
• Are my medications becoming difficult to manage?
• Do I wish more people were around to talk with?
• Do I still feel like I’m an active part of my community?
Maybe it’s time to consider an environment where you can make your own choices but still get help when you need it. Your lifestyle still matters. Many people fear that they’ll give up their freedom when they move to assisted living. In reality, an assisted living community should offer more freedom. By helping make daily activities easier, you should have more flexibility to do the things you truly care about. Assisted living should also respect your personal preferences and wishes. Whether you prefer to stay in your apartment and watch a movie or you want to attend a group activity, each day should be your choice. Ultimately, you should be in control of your lifestyle and care.
Peace. Comfort. Purpose.
It’s important to join an assisted living community that encourages you to stay active and supports your physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. You have a purpose in life, and your community should help you by supporting that purpose. Your community should also share values that align with your own personal values. You should be in a place where you feel loved, valued and at peace. A place that offers a comfortable routine and purposeful activities. A place that wants you to enjoy a fulfilling life—both now and in the future. Services to fit your needs. When it comes to assisted living, you should feel free to choose the services you wish to receive. Caregivers should be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure any needs are being met. Most importantly, services should be provided by trained caregivers who genuinely care for each person’s well-being: mind, body and soul.
