AZNHA Virtual Meeting
11:30 AM - 1:00 PM
Presentation: What Drives Recruitment and Retention in Home Care? A Data-Driven, Practical Workshop
Speakers: Robert Espinoza, Executive Vice President of Policy, with PHI
Across the country, home care agencies are increasingly struggling to recruit and retain home care workers, making it difficult to provide optimal care in their communities. Central to this challenge is the financial insecurity that many homecare workers face, which harms them economically and pushes them out of this sector. This session will provide an overview of the direct care workforce recruitment and retention challenges facing home care employers, including key figures, their primary challenges, and what providers and policymakers are doing to address them. It will also discuss how poverty impacts home care workers and the workforce shortage in this job sector, providing audience members with a clear sense of what workers navigate and how providers and policymakers can make a meaningful difference.
About our speaker: Robert Espinoza is the Executive Vice President of Policy at PHI, where he oversees its national advocacy and public education division on the direct care workforce. In 2020, he was selected for the first-ever CARE 100 list of the most innovative people working to re-imagine how we care in America today and as one of Next Avenue's 2020 Influencers in Aging. Robert also serves on the board of directors for the American Society on Aging, the National Academy of Social Insurance, and the FrameWorks Institute.
EVERYONE: You must RSVP if you wish to gain access to this meeting. For those on the RSVP List, you will receive the Zoom access information on the Monday, prior to the presentation.
DO NOT WAIT until right before the meeting begins to request Zoom information. We may not get to you in time. Please don't miss this session because you did not register in time.
